End of season

Dear Team and Supporters,

We didn’t manage to catch up with everyone after yesterday’s game- so we would just like to thank you all again for fantastic support and encouragement throughout the past season. It has been a truly memorable time and our boys certainly won’t be forgetting it in a hurry! ...we won’t either

We are just in the process of confirming a venue for our Lads V All comers match and BBQ but have set a provisional date of Saturday 15^th June probably mid afternoon KO and BBQ at the end (weather permitting) Please put it in your diaries- it would be great to see as many of you as possible. This will be our last get together as a team before the summer.

We also hope to be able to talk briefly about next season – registration usually starts in June believe it or not!

The Cup

Dear Team and Supporters,

 

Last Sunday saw us overcome a massive psychological hurdle on the way to a place in this year’s Chester & District U13 Cup Final at the Deva Stadium next Sunday (19^th) KO 12 noon. We need to be at the ground for 11am.  No matter what happens there, we now know we can match and ultimately beat Blacon- a strong and gifted team with whom we have had some titanic battles this season. This gives us the necessary platform not just for a Cup  win but also, importantly,  for next season. We want our team to stay together and get even stronger.

We have light training this Thursday (6-7 Waverton Village Hall)- anyone carrying even the hint of a muscle pull or injury is excused. We will need to be at our sharpest again on Sunday- after all last Sunday was only the semi-final. Lets ensure we finish the job this time.

We are likely to do the same again this Sunday and invite the entire squad in the knowledge that we may not be able to get you all onto the pitch- but we will do our absolute best to do so. Please come in full Waverton kit and bring drinks.

Finally we are planning an end of season get together (perhaps a footy match and BBQ)- planning for this will begin after the Cup Final this Sunday when we can  retire to the Ring O Bells in Christleton (hopefully with Cup in hand) for a pint. All comers welcome...

League Shield

We are struggling to locate the shield we won last season (League 2 winners) – if anyone can let me know where it is that would be great!

It needs to go back to the league this weekend.

Cup Semi-Final

Dear Team and Supporters

Great effort in training yesterday- well done.  First things first- the Cup Semi against Blacon Youth. The game will be played at Hoole Park. Parking will be limited so we advise getting there early and parking along Canadian Ave. KO 1.30pm so please be there for 12.45pm. This will give plenty of time for warm ups and our team talk. We are going out for a win – not extra time and penalties. However we did practise pens in training – remember Jason won’t be in goal this Sunday so it will be a lot harder to score. Make up your mind which side to go, take a deep breath and tuck it away....

We have decided to invite all of the squad along on Sunday. We are really only allowed a squad of 16 but in the past Blacon have been fine with us doing this (last year’s final we did the same) however this will mean there will be some subs that won’t get a game. Whilst this is tough for those who aren’t involved on the day- at least it gives everyone a chance depending upon how the game develops.

We hope you understand our tough decision and will support us on the day. The final will be next- but we don’t count our chickens.

Our Chester & District Cup Semi-Final against Blacon will be played this Sunday at Hoole Park off Canadian Ave. KO is 1.30pm so please be there for 12.45pm. Please can you come in full Waverton kit with training tops if you have one. We will announce the squad on Friday. Training will be on in Waverton from 6-7pm on Thursday. Please make sure you bring drinks.

Matches

Dear Team and Supporters,

There is not match this Sunday but there is one on the 12^th May. This is the Chester & District Cup Semi-Final against Blacon. Venue to be confirmed. Once we get through this one the final is on the 19^th May at the Deva Stadium.  Can you let us know if you are unavailable for either of these dates please. We are also planning an end of season get together- probably involving a lads v all comers match. This will also be an opportunity to have a chat about plans for next season and to ask any questions etc. Will keep you posted.
