Fixtures for September

Dear Team and Supporters,

The new season is now upon us so we just need to let you know about the first couple of fixtures.

·         Sunday 9^th September we shall be playing at home  vs Blacon Youth (Waverton large pitch) KO 2pm. We shall meet at 1.30pm but any help beforehand with the nets would be very much appreciated.

·         Sunday 16^th September we are playing Groves Athletic away- venue and time to be confirmed

·         Sunday 23^rd September we are planting JFC Broughton  at home KO 2pm

There are no easy games this season- but this will be a great test for us.

Training at Waverton next Thursday (we have decided to use the grass next week) 6pm- 7pm. Can we remind those of you who haven’t yet paid for the training pitch to drop off a cheque next Thursday please.

Friendly match postponed

 

Dear team and supporters,

Unfortunately our friendly match this thursday has had to be postponed...we are currently trying to identify some opposition but it won't be in time for tomorrow. We will train at Waverton from 6-7pm but you don't need to come in Waverton kits. Apologies....

Friendly match

Dear Team and Supporters,

This Thursday we are playing a pre-season friendly against the U12 Arrows. The match will KO at 6.30pm at Waverton. We would like everyone to be there for 6pm please. Nets etc will need to go up so any help would be greatly appreciated. Please come in your Jets kit (if you don’t have one then anything yellow or a training bid)

Training

Dear Team and Supporters,

We hope you’ve all had a great summer and are ready for the new football season ahead. Hopefully you’ve all been playing a bit of beach footy or at least made it down to the park a few times. Our fitness levels need to be higher this season.

This Thursday (23^rd) we are training at Waverton Village Hall from 6pm- 7pm. Please get there 5 mins early if you can because this year we want you properly warmed up and stretched before we are due to start at 6pm. Bring a drink.

From Thursday 6^th September we will be back at Upton Sports Centre on the astro turf (pitch 5) Unfortunately our block booking is at the same time this season 5.45pm – 6.45pm. We realise how early this is for some of you and apologise it couldn’t be later. These sessions allow us to do over winter training (floodlit and all weather) until March 2013. The first month is played in summery conditions but after the clocks go back we are thankful for a bit of lighting.... and if we don’t book it now we would lose our slot altogether.

As a result we need to ask you to contribute to the cost of the pitch so please can you let us how £20 either this Thursday or next for the first 10 week block. Ideally cheques payable to AFC Waverton please.
