RE: AFC Waverton Jets V Westminster Park Lions

Dear Team and Supporters,

After trying to get hold of the Westminster Park Lions Manager since Tuesday (and having left numerous messages on both his land and mobile lines) he contacted me this evening to say that they can’t play us at 2.30pm on Sunday because some of their team have swimming lessons to go to.

 

He told me that if we couldn’t play at the stated time of 2pm we would have to forfeit the game. He did offer another option...to play at Westminster Park KO 2pm. After due consultation with the management team I accepted.

 

So...we are now away at Westminster Park KO 2pm. They are putting up the goals so there is some consolation. The referee has been informed...but he hasn’t got back to me yet either!

 

Please let one of us know if lifts are required. We need to get there for 1.30pm.

Training and match

Dear Team and Supporters,

It’s great to be sitting top of the league after 4 matches- but now’s not the time for complacency. We are only as good as our last game- but we were quite good weren’t we! It was a solid team performance capped with some excellent individual displays.

Training is on at the usual time (5.45pm) tonight at Upton. Remember to bring a drink....that means you will need it!

The match on Sunday is against Westminster Park Lions and will be at home. At the moment KO is arranged for 2.30pm so please try to be there for 2pm. If things change then we will let you know asap. We are hoping to welcome back Arsh this weekend after his period out with injury.

Can you let one of us know if you are unavailable for selection this weekend.

Match- Upton V AFC Waverton Jets

Dear Team and supporters,

This Sunday sees us away at Upton. The match will KO at 2pm. The venue is Hoole Park just off Panton Road in Hoole. We have been requested to park on Canadian Avenue and walk to the ground because of likely congestion in the car park. Please make sure you are there for 1.30pm at the latest. Bring a drink, tracksuit top or Waverton winter top (James T I have yours in the bag) and snack.

Well done to everyone for a fantastic win last weekend.

Training will be on at the usual time of 5.45pm this Thursday (Upton Sports Centre pitch 5) Please bring a drink with you.

Our match against Hope Farm this Sunday is at home. We are planning to kick off at 1.30pm so please be there to warm up at least 30mins before. If you can help with the nets that would be great.

 

We still need to confirm the earlier KO time with opposition so this may be subject to change. Please keep an eye on emails.

The match on Sunday is away at Groves Rangers KO 2pm. Please be at Groves Social Club (the old Castrol Sports ground) off Chester Road in Whitby Ellesmere Port for 1.30pm at the latest for warm ups. If you don’t know the way please shout.

Well done for yesterdays good performance against a strong Elton side. We learned a lot about ourselves and where some of our strengths and weaknesses lie during this tough encounter. We won’t come across a goalkeeper as good at that some sometime to come!

 

This Thursday there will be training at Upton from 5.45pm. Please be there promptly so we can make full use of the hour we have together. Thank you to those who have passed their pitch fees on to us. Those of you who haven’t yet done so can you bring it this week please?
