Tomorrow

Itinerary for AFC Waverton visit to Chester City13th December 2008

Players are to arrive at Wood Farm Training Facility in time for training sessions that begin at 11.45am prompt. AFC Waverton Managers/Coaches are required to stay for the training sessions but parents may go home/Christmas shopping if they wish although they are welcome to stay and watch. There will be a catering van selling food, tea, coffee etc. at the training ground for anyone who wants to stay and watch.

Players will need boots and shin pads (they will be training on grass) – and please ensure they bring tracksuits, hats, gloves, trainers and other appropriate warm clothing to wear after training. They will also need to bring a packed lunch or money to buy lunch from the catering van (they will get a drink and fruit bag after training).

The training ground is at Deeside Lane off Sealand Road. Best way to get there is to go down Sealand Road, past the large B&Q Warehouse. From the lights at B&Q, carry on down Sealand Road (signposted Queensferry) for approx 2.4 miles until you come to the Golf driving range on the left. Turn left here (sign for WT Banks – Wood Farm) on to Deeside Lane. Follow Deeside Lane round for about 1.3 miles until you come to the large white building which is Land of Fires Showroom (mind the large ramps in road here). Just after here turn left and Wood Farm Training Facility is about 1/10th of a mile on the left.

Parents who have been requested by their managers to help with transport must be back at Wood Farm by 1.15pm at the latest to help transport the children to the Deva Stadium at approximately 1.35pm.

On arrival at the Deva Stadium, the children will have their packed lunches and they will then be taken on a guided tour of the ground in smaller groups. Because of the large number we are taking it won’t be possible to get us all in the changing rooms to meet the players – so instead when we are all in our seats (we will have an enclosed area of the stand all to ourselves) the players will come over to us before the game and sign autographs etc. – so make sure players or parents bring pens with them.

Parents and children just coming to the match are to collect their tickets from Graham Frost who will be at the Main Ticket Office between 2.15 and 2.30pm.

The children will then meet up with the adults in the main stand to watch the game. Parents not coming to the game can collect their children at 4.45pm from outside the main ticket office.

If possible, players should wear their AFC Waverton kits, Training jackets etc. Managers/Coaches are responsible for their own teams players and must arrange transport to/from Wood Farm and the Deva Stadium.

Game postponed

Team and Supporters,

Upton’s Director of Football has just informed us that the game is off tomorrow.

Why not come to Christleton Primary School Xmas Fair instead in the afternoon (1pm I think?)….see the Boss and his trustworthy Assistant cope with the toy stall…we are taking whistles and red cards.

See you soon

AFC Waverton Jets V Upton

Dear Team and Supporters,

Sorry for the late call on this one…and the ongoing uncertainty. Upton have asked us to wait until tonight to confirm the fixture as they are looking for a playable pitch. The venue will be either Overleigh St Marys Primary School, Handbridge or Chester Rugby Club Hare Lane. I will email you all tonight and put a note on the website so please check things late on.

We are currently second in the league with one game in hand…an unbeaten run that we have to maintain to get to our goal of the Deva Stadium finals next year. We owe it to Matty….Chester City’s biggest fan to be there.

Our Xmas do next week is coming around fast….anyone needing lifts etc let me know.

Anyway…if we play please make sure you bring suitable clothing. The Boss has agreed for gloves and hats to be worn….but only if the temperature drops below -10oc

Will be in touch

Westminster Park Tigers V The Jets

Dear Team and Supporters,

This coming Saturday (22nd) we are due to play Westminster Park Tigers away at Westminster Park. The pitch inspection is likely to take place at the end of the week so we are not 100% sure that this game will be on. Please keep a close eye on the website and/or emails. The Shield Championship is proving to be very competitive (as we found last week!) so we need to start this match in the same way as the Blacon game. Come along to enjoy it.

Clean boots and full kit.

See you there.

TRAINING AT 10am!!!

Team and Supporters,

No more executive decisions from me! Am on a written warning from the boss….

If you oversleep or it takes too long to clean your boots…please blame it on me.

TRAINING-The Jets

Team and Supporters,

A week is a long time in football…..last weeks result is a dim and distant memory. I sadly missed it so I still think we are the best team since sliced bread.

Anyway…training only this week. The Boss isn’t on email at the moment so I have taken an executive decision and said meet for 10.30am at Christleton Primary School. Please keep an eye on the webpage if possible.

Clean boots and only Everton kit allowed.

Could be a bit lonely for me then….

Hope to see you there…I may have another fixture clash with Ellie’s team who are playing in Malpas. The Boss will be there with his usual high standards and expectations. Don’t disappoint.

Keep smilin’

The Jets V Blacon Youth

Top of the Table Clash this coming Saturday!

Dear Team and Supporters,

It’s a top of the table clash this coming Saturday. AFC Waverton Jets V Blacon Youth

We shall be playing at Christleton Primary School unless the weather makes the pitch unplayable. Please take a look at your emails or the web page  this Friday night. www.afcwaverton.com

Lets not get too excited about this match….lets stay calm, assured and relaxed (note for Coaches only!)….play our own game and play to our own strengths (this is straight from Brian Cloughs coaching manual….for those of you who don’t know who Brian Clough was…he was the king of man management, sometimes a bit stroppy, sometimes a bit mouthy….but always a winner…until this latter days when things unraveled a bit)

Anyway…kick off 10.30am….be there for 10. Full kit and clean boots.

Simon
